Homeopathy treats stress-induced hair loss effectively

Pressures at the workplace, marital discord, or ill-health – they have one common thread. Stress. Just as stress affects a person emotionally, it can also cause as much physical damage. Have we not seen people suffering from stress complain of acidity, acne, headache, or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)? Hair loss is no exception. Stress is a major cause of hair loss, more so in our increasingly high-strung, frenzied world.

Stress-provoked hair loss follows one of the two patterns: telogen effluvium or alopecia areata. In telogen effluvium, the person loses a large number of hair, all over the scalp, in a relatively short span of time, after a stressful event. However, the hair lost is often regained in 6-8 months, plausibly much more quickly with appropriate homeopathic treatment. Alopecia areata, on the other hand, presents with localised bald patches on the scalp. It needs specialised homeopathic treatment, because certain cases are much more difficult to treat than the others.

Homeopathy treats hair loss caused by stress from the inside-out — not just on the surface. It can help control, or reverse, hair loss. In telogen effluvium, homeopathic treatment is aimed to help the hair follicles regenerate new hair strands. Homeopathy can, likewise, help tackle the underlying causes of alopecia areata — stress, genetics, or hormonal.

Simran (28) approached us with generalised hair loss from the scalp. The volume of her hair had reduced considerably over a period of six months. She had no other health concern. On detailed case-analysis, we found that Simran was going through a stressful phase. Her father, to whom she was extremely attached, had recently passed away, after prolonged illness.
