Piles or hemorrhoids are the most common lifestyle ailment. It is developed due to excess pressure on anal blood vessels leading to swelling and inflammation.
Symptoms:
- Burning sensation before, during or after stools
- Itching in the anus
- Constipation
- Constant sensation of heaviness in the anus
- Sensation of unsatisfactory stools
- There could be bleeding before, after or during stools
- Pricking sensation in the anus
- Pain in the anus before or after passing stools
Contributing factors
- Alcohol Intake
- Spicy food
- High blood pressure
- strenuous exercise
- Prolonged sitting or traveling
- less fluid intake
Types of piles
Hemorrhoids - swollen clusters of veins lying under the walls of anus
- Internal (inside the anus)
- External (outside the anus)
Any activity that exerts excessive pressure on the blood vessels can increase the risk of enlargement
If Ignored, it may lead to:
- Severe anal spasm leading to insomnia
- Sentinel piles
- Fissures
- Chronic anemia
- Anal incontinence
- Thrombosis of piles
